Tips on Creating a Site Your Visitors will Love

As most business owners know, having a website is part and parcel of having an effective online presence that could help to boost the success of the business. However, dedicating a lot of time and effort into creating a site is pointless if you don’t know what sorts of things will appeal to those that will hopefully be visiting your website. It is important to consider what people are going to be looking for when they head to your website, as this will enable you to make sure you take the design of the site in the right direction.

It is always a good idea to try the idea to click on a few websites yourself – preferably ones for businesses that are in the same industry as you. Then make a note of what you like about the sites and what you don’t like about them. In other words, put yourself in the shoes of the website visitors that will be heading to your site and this will make it easier for you to determine the types of things your visitors are likely to love and what they probably won’t like. You can then design your site with these ideas in mind.

What your website visitors will want to see on your site

There are a number of key things that pretty much any website visitor will want to see when clicking on your  – or any other business’s – website. You should make sure you keep these in mind when you are discussing the creation of your site. Some of the things that your visitors will be keen to see include:

  • Tabs/links that are clear and well displayed: Nobody has time to aimlessly ‘roam’ around your website pages looking for links to other parts of the site, so make sure you don’t hide them away. They need to be not only easy to read in terms of font and size but they also need to be properly located so that they can be easily seen.
  • High quality images: Website visitors are naturally drawn to images when visiting a website, and this is something that can make or break a site. Poor quality images can make a site look extremely unappealing and unprofessional where as slick, high quality images create a dynamic and eye-catching finish.
  • Content that makes sense: When your visitors read the content on the site, the last thing they will want is just paragraph after paragraph of nonsensical, badly written, keyword-stuffed or irrelevant text. Instead, they will want to see well written copy that is structured in a way that makes it easy to read.
  • Simple navigation: Your visitors will definitely want to see a site that is going to be simple to navigate and get around, so you need to make sure you focus on this over and above aesthetics because a nice looking site is pointless if it is so difficult to get around that your visitors quickly close it and head elsewhere.

When making plans for your site, keep in mind these factors in order to help you to create a site that will really impress your visitors.
